Dentist: Dentists diagnose, and treat problems with teeth or other parts of the mouth. They remove decay from teeth and gums, fill cavities, take x rays, and fix broken teeth with procedures involving crowns or bridges among other things. Dentists use a variety of equipment, including x-ray machines, drills, mouth mirrors, probes, forceps, brushes, and scalpels. Dentists or Oral Surgeons may perform surgery on gums and oral bones to treat gum diseases, extract teeth and make models and measurements for dentures. Dentists help to provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, and other aspects of dental hygeine. They also have the ability to administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.
